Grants & Scholarships
Grants and scholarships are types of gift aid, meaning they don’t need to be repaid.
Bethel Military Scholarship
Amount: Up to $500 per semester ($1,000 maximum per year).
Renewal: Students must apply every year.
Type: Bethel scholarship.
Eligibility: New, regularly admitted, degree-seeking students who are, or have served, in the U.S. armed forces (includes Reserves and National Guard). Recipients must be enrolled at least half time for the term. Recipients do not need to demonstrate need, and are not eligible for other Bethel-funded grants or scholarships. Students already receiving gift assistance from any source (including military benefits) that fully meets tuition are not eligible for this scholarship.

Corporate Partnership Scholarship
Amount: Up to $500 per semester (maximum $1,000 per year).
Renewal: Students must apply every year.
Type: Bethel scholarship.
Eligibility: Degree-seeking students who are employed by a Bethel University Corporate Partner and are enrolled for 3 or more credits for the semester. Recipients do not need to demonstrate need and are not eligible for other Bethel-funded grants or scholarships. Students already receiving gift assistance from any source (including military benefits and employer tuition reimbursement) that fully meets tuition are not eligible for this scholarship.
How your organization can become a Corporate Partner: Notify Bethel of your interest in the Corporate Partnership Scholarship by contacting Jen Niska in the Office of Admissions at 651.635.8000. Bethel will use the information you provide to contact your corporation to determine if the Corporate Partnership program is mutually beneficial. Once your employer becomes a Corporate Partner, you will have the opportunity to be considered for the Corporate Partner Scholarship.
Minnesota Indian Scholarship Program
Amount: Up to $6,000 per year.
Renewal: Students must apply every year.
Type: State grant.
Eligibility: Minnesota residents who are one-fourth or more Indian ancestry and demonstrate financial need. Awarded by state of Minnesota on a first-come, first-served basis.
How to apply:
- Fill out a separate application through the Minnesota Office of Education.
- Complete the FAFSA.

Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant
Amount: Up to $2,000 per semester.
Renewal: Students must apply every year.
Type: Federal grant.
Eligibility: Students who plan on being teachers. Recipients must work as full-time teachers in a high-need field serving low-income students for a minimum of 4 years within 8 years of graduation. This grant reverts to a Direct Unsubsidized Loan (with interest accrued from the date of each grant disbursement), for students who don’t carry out the teaching requirements.

Minnesota GI Bill Program
Amount: Up to $1,000 per term for full-time students. Up to $500 per term for part-time students.
Renewal: Must apply each year. Lifetime maximum of $10,000.
Type: State program.
Eligibility: Minnesota veterans and service members who served on or after September 11, 2001.
Academic requirements: Must be a student in good standing.
How to apply:
- Apply for financial aid at Bethel and complete your FAFSA.
- Complete the online Minnesota GI Bill Application.
- Tell us you’ve completed the application and provide a copy of your DD-214 by sending an email finaid@bethel.edu.
