Experienced Teachers and Initial Licensure Candidates

Experienced educators: Education K-12, Literacy Education, and Special Education will enhance your knowledge, competencies, and attitudes. You will be empowered to extend your leadership beyond the classroom by motivating others—especially educational professionals, parents, and the community—toward excellence on behalf of students.

Initial Licensure Candidates: Do you want to teach? Get your teaching credentials through the M.A. in Teaching. The teaching program is designed for those who have completed a degree in a major and want to add a teaching credential to their resume.

Each cohort represents diverse districts and settings including rural, suburban, and urban, as well as private and public institutions. Within this community, proven theory, contemporary issues, and innovative approaches are studied, debated, and applied. The interaction represents a dynamic model for individuals to grow as teachers and leaders.

Bethel provides a holistic education

The mission of Bethel University as a Christian liberal arts institution is incorporated into all facets of programming. The education programs are thus constructed in ways that reflect both the Christian and the liberal arts dimensions of the University. Although being a Christian is not a requirement for admission, Christian perspectives will be explored throughout the program. Emphasis will be given to the recognition of ethical problems, sound moral decision making, and the development of moral character. This program is designed for all who are willing to be educated within this environment. Bethel encourages students to apply their learning to the whole person and exercise critical thinking skills that relate to all of life and work.
