The M.A. in Teaching at Bethel qualifies aspiring teachers to enter the field of their calling. We provide adults with an undergraduate degree the education and initial licensure necessary to teach.
Teachers already in the field also enroll in the program to fulfill classes and experiences needed for “highly qualified status”—a designation increasingly required for job security.
Our program is built around state licensure standards, but we bring added value: Our faculty teach from a foundation in the Christian faith, which is woven into every course. We also provide community. You'll thrive with the support of your cohort—a close student group that progresses together from beginning to end.
You can earn a license to teach in one of 9 content areas:
- Communication Arts and Literature
- Social Studies
- General Science
- Life science, Chemistry, or Physics
- Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)
- Visual Arts
- World Languages and Cultures (Spanish or French)
The M.A. in Teaching at Bethel is the only program (for adult students) in Minnesota to license teachers in the field of business. Another distinction is dual licensure; upon completing course requirements, students may earn a license in two content areas.
