  • Assessment and Learning: 6 one-week modules, 3 credits
  • Teaching and Learning: 6 one-week modules, 3 credits
  • Capstone: 2 one-week modules, 1 credit

Through the course work, students gain a working knowledge of all 3 International Baccalaureate programs at a basic level and specialize in a specific IB program and its implementation.

International Baccalaureate programs include:

  • Primary Year (ages 3-12)
  • Middle Year (ages 11 to 16)
  • Diploma (ages 16-19)

Certification

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Certificate is appropriate for educators working in prospective, candidate, or authorized IB schools and meets the minimum professional development requirements for IB program authorization and evaluation in schools.

Students who successfully complete the program will be eligible to register for the IB Certificate in Teaching and Learning through the International Baccalaureate Organization. The certificate provides teachers with formal recognition of their knowledge and understanding of curricular, pedagogical, and assessment issues involved in implementing the IB program in which they teach or intend to teach.

The IB Certificate at Bethel University is approved by the International Baccalaureate Organization.
